The Seattle music scene is going high. Hip-hop, R&B, Pop, Reggae, Indie. It all happens in The Town. And with venues like Studio 7, artists have a platform to showcase their many talents. Afro-Pop artist Nu Kru wrecked the stage last night on that very terrace.
The mixed crowd drew near when he gave them the reggae feel of “Rida”, which is a Muslim name meaning Favored by God. Being raised in Liberia and growing up in the States, Nu Kru touches on the diversity he endures and how he is able to overcome with his continued faith.
Having captured the crowd’s attention, Nu Kru harmonized them with “In My Dreams”. This soulful song is an ode to the ladies. With a couple of women joining him on-stage thereafter, Nu Kru drops “I Wonder”. The beat, produced by Dylan Diel, got the room moving. The crowd was engaged in Nu Kru's stage presence. So when he brought out the song that brought us all to the show in the first place, it got live! “I Liko” is Nu Kru’s first released single from his up-and-coming EP Nu Breed. You could hear the crowd singing along to the catchy lyrics. Listen to and download “I Liko”.
Catch Nu Kru again on June 2nd at TAO Event Center in Portland, OR, where he will be opening up for reggae artist Gyptian. Find out all other Nu Kru news and events by following him on social media.
